Deals for the week all in one spot!

I know that my blog can get overwhelming (at least this is what I’ve been told), especially if you are new, so I thought I’d post some of the deals for the week all in one spot:

CVS – You can find the weekly ad/coupon match ups here, the monthly deal coupon match ups here, and my weekly scenarios here.

Diapers.com – You can still get great deals on diapers without ever leaving your house! Check out all the details here.

Gap – Today is the last day of the 30% off sale. Take an extra 30% off new arrivals and get free shipping when you spend $150 or more when you enter the code SPRING at check-out. Get 3% cash back when you shop through Ebates.

Kohls – Save an extra 20-40% off selected Food Network cookware. Shop their three day specials in store (Through Tuesday) and their four day specials online (through Wednesday): 70% off selected winter coats for women, 50% off Urban Pipeline tops and jeans for boys, 60% off selected fine jewelery, 15% off entire stock of Kitchen Aid stand mixers. They are also having their Gold Star clearance where you can save 60-80% off original prices. The BEST part is that they are offering .99 shipping (if you’ve ever shopped at Kohls.com, you know that shipping can be killer sometimes!) Get an extra 4% cash back when you shop through Ebates.

Kroger – The Mega sale will reportedly continue for another week! You can access the match ups here and my scenario from my first trip here. If you want to order coupons to match up with some of the deals, I totally recommend The Coupon Clippers. Turn around time is fast and the prices are reasonable.

Old Navy – Today is the last day of the 30% off sale. Take an extra 30% off new arrivals and get free shipping when you spend $150 or more when you enter the code SPRING at check-out. They also have more clearance markdowns starting at $1.99 and up. Click here for the details. Get 3% cash back when you shop through Ebates.

Target – Save up to 75% online when you shop their clearance sale here. They are also offering free shipping on many items when you spend at least $50. Get 4% cash back when you shop through Ebates.

Click here to find out how you can get free juice and really cheap (or free) snack items. Also, check out your baby section. Many stores have baby gear on clearance for 30-75% off. People have reported finding the Sit ‘n Stand stroller for $32. Children’s clothing is also on clearance for 30-50% off. Some areas are reporting that their stores have already started clearancing the “value packs” (at my store, these were back in the area were the seasonal decor is usually)

The Children’s Place – If you haven’t taken advantange of their great clearance sale yet, it’s not too late! Their “Monster Sale” is still going on. Take an additional 50% off already reduced clearance items. Get 3% cash back when you shop through Ebates.

Walgreens – I have had a hard time getting into the Walgreens deals lately. I spent all of my RR and am waiting for my rebate gift card. I hate spending money OOP! Becky has some great coupon match-ups on her blog. There are some decent deals this week, but the only thing I really see myself doing is this because we need a refill anyway:

Printer Cartridge Refill – $5.00
-$5.00 MIR (from the Easysaver catalog)
= FREE

FREEBIES AND OTHER “NOTEWORTHY” THINGS:

Free Bath and Body Works – The details and printable coupon are here.

Free Earrings from Darcus Tori – Manda posted about this on her blog. You get a free pair of heart-shaped amethyst earrings (a $59.99 value) when you use code 0801 at check-out. You do have to pay shipping. Check out the details here.

20. Don’t fill out any credit card information! Just leave it blank and click on “Place Order”

21. You’re done! You’ll see an Order Summary and you’ll also receive an email with your order number.

Kraft Instant Win Game – Several people have reported they’ve had “luck” winning in the early morning hours. You can enter here

Lila Guide – Find out how to get $15 in Target gift cards here.

Swagbucks – If you haven’t joined yet, you will get one free Swagbuck when you enter the code BeRewarded (it is case sensitive). For details on how Swagbucks works, read this post.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!

Thrifty Thursday: My Walgreens trip for the week

My Thrifty Thursday tip of the day is to always have a back up plan. I posted my Walgreens scenario for the week here. Unfortunately, no matter how well you try to plan, sometimes things don’t work out. I forgot my $2 Revlon coupon and they were all out of the Hunt’s tomato sauce. I was trying to figure out what fillers to get. Candy would have been a cheap option, but I decided against it because I’m really trying to cut out candy. I wanted to get something I needed/would use, so I decided on some cards. My OOP ended up being $3.91, which was more than I had planned, but I had to improvise, and I would have ended up buying the cards at some point anyway. Plus, I paid with a gift card 🙂 I also ended up with a $3 RR from the cereal and I will get a $1.50 Easysaver rebate from the Electrasol. The best part of this is that none of it will come out of my weekly grocery budget.

Scenario Sunday: Walgreens Scenario for the week of 1/4-1/10

This is actually a great Walgreens week, but I didn’t have a chance to do the ad/coupon match-ups. If you want to check those out, check out Nickels-N-Dimes or HCW.

Just a heads up that the Garnier Fructis is free with the Easysaver coupon and the $1 manufacturer’s coupon from today’s inserts. The Reynolds foil is free with the in ad coupon and the $1 coupon from the 12-14 inserts. With both deals, you will want to give the manufacturer’s coupon BEFORE the Walgreens coupons to avoid beepage.

Here’s the scenario I’ve come up with for the week. I have 2 $5 RR I need to roll.

TRANSACTION #1: I recently discovered that I LOVE Theraflu warming liquids, so I’m going to start with that.

Buy 2 Theraflu warming liquids – 2/$10, earn $5 RR
Use 2 $2 blinkies (found at CVS)
Use $5 RR

Spend $1, earn $5 RR

TRANSACTION #2:
Buy 4 Kellogg’s cereals, 4/$10 earn $3 RR
Buy 2 Special K and 2 Frosted Mini Wheats
Use 2 Kelloggs Frosted Mini-Wheats or All-Bran Cereal, any 11.4 oz.+ $1 (1-25-09) from 12-14 RP insert
Use 2 Kelloggs Special K or Smart Start Cereal, any 11.4 oz.+ $1 (1-25-09) from 12-14 RP insert

Buy 1 box Electrasol tablets – $3.49 ($1.50 MIR from monthly Easysaver catalog)
Use $2.50/1 Electrasol from 12-14 inserts

Buy 1 Revlon Matte eyeshadow – $4.99 (free after rebate from monthly Easysaver catalog)
Use $2/1 Revlon Color Cosmetic Product, Any – 09-14-08 SS

Buy 1 Reynolds foil – .99 w/ in ad coupon
$1/1 Reynolds Wrap Aluminum Foil, Any Excluding 25 Sq. Ft. – 12-14-08 SS
(Give the manufacturer’s coupon first to avoid beepage)

Buy 2 Garnier Fructis – $2.99
Use $2 in ad coupon
Use $1 manufacturer’s coupon (use this first to avoid beepage)

Buy 2 Hunts tomato sauce – .33/each with in ad coupon – these are “fillers” so I can use 2 $5 RR

Use 2 $5 RR

Total OOP = .62, earn $3 RR and $6.49 in rebates

TRANSACTION #3:
Buy 3 Quaker Oatmeal – $1.99 w/ in ad coupon
Buy 1 Hunt’s tomato sauce – .33/each w/ in ad coupon (this is a filler so I can use the $3 RR)
Use in ad coupon
Use 3 $1 printable manufacturer’s coupon

Use $3 RR from cereal

Total OOP = .30

So, you get $39.42 in merchandise for $1.92 OOP and get $6.49 in Walgreens rebates

Step by Step: The Walgreens Dimetapp/Robitussin RR deal

Yesterday I posted about the awesome overlap in RR deals on Robitussin/Dimetapp at Walgreens.

Here’s the scoop:

The Robitussin/Dimetapp is on sale for $4/each this week (I believe the regular price is $6.49-$6.99)

1. Print five of the $2 off coupons (the links are posted here).

2. Visit your local Walgreens. If you can get your hands on five bottles, you will spend $10 out of pocket after coupons, but you will get $20 in RR (if you buy them before 12/31). After 12/31, you will get $15 in RR.

Based on posts on HCW, the following UPCs are confirmed to be working for this deal: (these are for 4 oz bottles)

Children’s Dimetapp Cold & Cough (3-0031-2234-13-2 = UPC)
Dimetapp Cold and Allergy Elixir (UPC=0031 2235 12)
Children’s Dimetapp Cold and Allergy (UPC=300312235-139)

Adult Robitussin Cough & Chest Congestion, Sugar-Free DM3-0031-8686-13-3 = UPC
Adult Robitussin Cough, Sugar Free DM (UPC =3 0031 8686 12 6)
Adult Robitussin Cough & Cold CF (UPC = 3-0031-8616-14-7)
Adult Robitussin Cough & Chest Congestion DM (UPC = 3-0031-8685-15-0)
Adult Robitussin Cough & Chest Congestion DM Max
Adult Robitussin Cough Syrup CF (UPC=3-0031 8616 14)
Adult Robitussin Night time Cough Cold and Flu (UPC = 0031 8642)

Does not appear to be working:
Adult Robitussin Night Time Cold and Cough 4 oz

3. This week, there is a deal where you earn $10 in RR when you spend $20 on Robitussin/Dimetapp. This deal overlaps with two other catalina deals: (This information came from Common Sense with Money)

*Get $5 RR when you buy three Wyeth products (ends 12/31)
*Get $5 RR when you buy $10 in Wyeth products (ends 1/31)
*Get $10 RR when you spend $20 (ends 1/31)

If you buy the Robitussin/Dimetapp before 12/31, you will get $20 in RR. If you buy them after 12/31, you will get $15 in RR.

A few additional notes:
**If you try to use RR from a previous Dimetapp/Robitussin deal to pay for your out of pocket on the next round, your RR will not print.

**RR are treated as manufacturer’s coupons and you can only use one manufacturer’s coupon per item. If you are using a Wyeth coupon for each cough syrup and additional RR (from deals other than the Dimetapp/Robitussin deal), you will need to add “filler” items so that you can use your RR.

**The Wyeth coupons state “one per purchase” not “one per transaction” which means that you should be able to use one coupon for each item you are buying.

**Using coupons should not prevent your RR from printing although plenty of store managers and cashiers will try to tell you this. Before making your purchase, it helps to make sure that the green light on the catalina machine is on. If there is a red light or a flashing light, there may be a problem with the catalina machine.

**If your RR does not print, here’s what you need to do:
A1: The store will give you a form to fill out and mail in to catalina
A2: 1-888-8coupon, option 3
A3: use the online form: Contact Catalina Marketing
(I haven’t had much luck using the online form and have had the best luck just calling them)

**If your store is out of the Dimetapp/Robitussin, get a rain check for the $4 price. Since the overlap deal runs through the end of January, you can buy them when they are back in stock and you should still be able to get the $15 in RR.
