Hot deals this week (8/31-9/6)

I haven’t been able to shop as much since I’ve gone back to work. I got “caught up” this morning while my husband watched my kids. There are LOTS of good deals this week. I’m grateful that I have Monday off, so I can take advantage of some of the deals this week!

*Pantene Pro-V, 3/$9.99, get $2

*CoverGirl Wetslicks – $5.99, get $5.99 ($1/1 coupon in this weeks inserts or BOGO free – you can only do the deal once though)

*Spend $6 on Suave products, get $2

BOGO free deals:
*Life Fitness vitamins
*CVS supplements
*Kleenex facial tissue
*Tylenol (there are $1 off any coupons that were in the inserts recently)
*Covergirl lip products (mix with BOGO coupon from the inserts this week = FREE)

Other deals:
Dawn – .99 (use .50/1 from P&G insert)
Tide – $5.49 (use $1/1 coupon)
Pop Tarts/Rice Krispie treats – $1.69 ($1/2 from recent Kelloggs insert, $10 MIR if you buy 10 items)

My scenarios (I decided to include these if people are new to CVSing and need ideas):
Transaction #1 – Buy Claritin $8.99 and Colgate $2.99
Use $4 Claritin from last week’s inserts, $1.50 Colgate from All You and $2/10 CVS coupon
Spend $4.48, get $3

Transaction #2 – Buy Cover Girl Wet Slicks $5.99, buy 2 Cover Girl Lip color $5.99 – use Cover Girl $1/1, Cover Girl BOGO free, and $2/10 CVS
Spend $2.99, get $5.99 – I needed new lip stick, so I’m excited about this 🙂
**If you are new to CVSing and have this week’s coupons, this is a nice way to start

Transaction #3 – Buy Tide, 2 Dawn, and Colgate – use Tide $1/1, 2 Dawn .50/1, Colgate $1.50/1 and $2/10 CVS
Spend $4.96, get $2

More scenario ideas (great if you are new to CVSing and don’t want to spend a lot of $$)
Transaction #1:
Buy Cover Girl Wet Slicks $5.99, buy 2 Cover Girl Lip color $5.99 – use Cover Girl $1/1, Cover Girl BOGO free, and $2/10 CVS Spend $2.99, get $5.99

Transaction #2:
Buy Pantene Pro-V Shampoo/Cond/Styling Product- 3/$9.99, Colgate – $2.99

Use another $2/10 CVS coupon, the $1.50 printable Colgate coupon, the free Pantene styling product coupon from this week’s inserts, and your $5.99 ECB from the CoverGirl deal. Spend .16 (plus tax depending on your area), get $4 in ECBs.

Transaction #3:
Colgate – $2.99 – use $1.50 manufacturer’s coupon – OOP $1.49
Dawn- .99 Cents – .50 Cent MFR = .49 cents OOP
Use your $2 ECB (They will have to adjust it down to $1.98), and get another $2 ECB! 🙂

SO……for $3.15 (and possibly tax), you get all of that stuff and still have $4 in ECB to spend next week!

**The CoverGirl Wetslicks and BOGO scenario ONLY works if you can find the Outlast lipsticks for $5.99 (the ad says prices start at $4.99, but my stores don’t have anything under $9.99). If you can’t, you need to revamp the scenario because if you try to buy two Outlast lipsticks for $9.99 and the $5.99 Wetslicks together, it will take the “free” off the $5.99 automatically and then with your coupon, one of the $9.99 will come off, but you will still end up paying $8.99.

Target deals: I haven’t seen the ad (we get the paper on Sunday) or ad scans, but I read about this on a few different sites. Apparently it is not in all areas, so check your ads first.

Kellogg’s products are on sale 4/$9. Buy 4, get a $5 gift card. Items I have seen listed are: Rice Krispie Treats (8 ct), Pop Tarts (12 ct), Special K bars, Fudge Shoppe cookies, and Cheez Its. There are also Vocal Point coupons for $1/1 off the Special K bars and the $10 MIR when you buy 10 products if you haven’t done that yet. Here’s a Pop Tarts deal: Buy 10 Pop Tarts, use 5 $1/2 manufacturer’s coupons, use 10 .50/1 Target printable coupons. Spend $12.50, get $10 Target gift cards (send in MIR, get $10)

GYMBOREE:

Today (8/24) is the last day of the Circle of Friends sale (30% off your total purchase). If you are buying anything from “baby” lines (0-3 months through 5T), DO NOT buy anything that is full retail price now. The Baby Sale should start on 9/3 and everything up to $20 will be priced at $10 and everything over $20 will be priced at $20. You can use the 20% off coupon from this month’s Parenting magazine to get an even better deal! Also, the Labor Day sale should start sometime this weekend. You will get an additional 20% off clearance prices.

KROGER:

The $5 off $20 Nestle purchase goes through this week. Other deals can be found here:

http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/kroger-texas-louisiana/151045-8-20-thru-8-26-late-night-look.html

24 count crayons and pocket portfolios for a penny!

Lots of items for buy 2, get the third for a penny: Crayola crayons/markers/colored pencils, Bic pens/mechanical pencils/markers/correction tape, Sharpie markers/highlighters, Expo dry erase markers
TARGET: I have gotten incredibly cheap now that I have a stockpile of things from Walgreens and CVS, so I don’t see any “screaming” deals that I am going to run out for.

The Pop Tarts that I mentioned last week would still be a good deal (pricing may vary, but at my store, they are $1.79. With the $1/2 manufacturer’s coupons and the .50/1 Target printables, they end up being .79/each) If you have multiple manufacturer’s coupons, you could buy 10 and do the Kellogg’s mail in rebate for $10 and make $2.10 buying Pop Tarts.

All of the kid/adult underwear and socks are on sale, so now is a good time to stock up on those if you need them.

There are Back to School t-shirts for $4, polos for $5, and jeans for $7.

They have lots of storage bins and storage pieces on sale ($3.78-14.99)

You can get a $5 Target card when you buy Viva paper towels (priced at $14), Scott toilet paper (priced at $14), a box of Huggies diapers (priced at $18.99), or Cottonelle toilet paper (priced at $13)

Target partyware is 2/$5 and there is a $3/15 coupon on afullcup.com, so if you need paper plates and plastic cups, it’s not a bad deal.

WALGREENS:

*Dawn dish soap – 99 cents with in ad coupon – use your .50/1 P&G coupon for .49 dish soap

*Edy’s/Dreyer’s ice cream – 2/$5 (not too bad, and better if you have coupons)

*Huggies – $9.49, get $2 RR (use $1/1 coupon) – don’t forget to save your receipt to submit to Caregivers!

**Don’t forget to submit your August EasySaver Rebate receipts! There are “double dip” days this week (8/29 and 8/30). I have never done this before, but the details can be found here:

http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/walgreens/145839-aug-sept-esr-double-dips-aug-29-30-only.html

**If you haven’t gotten your Kellogg’s rebate yet, the RR are still printing through 8/30. There are still cereals on sale 4/$10 and Pop Tarts, Rice Krispie treats, etc. on sale 2/$4. You get a $5 RR when you spend $10.

Many stores also have their Walgreens diapers marked down to $5.99 (they are reported to be in a red and white package). Use the $5/2 coupon in the Easy Saver catalog and get diapers for $2.99/each. I haven’t tried these personally, but people on message boards I visit have reported that they like them.

The week in pictures

I wanted to share pictures from my CVS and Walgreens trips this week because I know that sometimes a visual helps!

Here’s what I got at CVS this week: (not pictured is the milk, the 4th Lamisilk and the 2nd Alavert because we’re already using them). I used ECBs and paid $.98 OOP (basically because I would have lost ECBs or hadto buy extra stuff to cover a bigger ECBs otherwise). I spend $52.90 in ECBs and earned $46, so I lost about $7 in ECBs, but it was worth it to get free diapers! Plus, I’ll mail in my receipts from the diapers to Caregivers and get $6 back.
Here’s why I love CVS so much:
Card #1:
YTD savings: $3494.45
Spending: $72.80
(We buy basics like milk and stamps at CVS and also fill all of our prescriptions here because the out of pocket goes toward your 2% quarterly ECBS):
Card #2:
YTD savings: $2816.85
Spending: $138.89
(From what I can figure out, the way that CVS calculates the YTD savings includes what you saved by shopping sale prices, plus your coupon and ECB redemptions)

Here’s what I got for $.99 at Walgreens this week. I also got a catalina for two free movie tickets for buying the Axe body wash and I will get a $2 rebate from Walgreens for buying the Glade Plug-in.

I used a $4 Glade coupon, a .75 Lysol coupon, a $1/2 Bic coupon, a $3 Bic razor coupon, the $2 Bic coupon from the Walgreens Easysaver catalog, the in ad coupon for $.89 Kleenex from the Walgreens ad, a $.50/3 Kleenex coupon, and $21 in Register Rewards from last week.
