Tasty Treat Tuesday: Oreo Cheesecake Cookies

My family is so excited to try this recipe.  We are all lovers of Oreos.  Now the trick is to actually make the cookies before all of the Oreos somehow “magically” disappear.

Here’s what you need to make them:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 3 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips (I didn’t have minis so I left these out)
  • 1 cup Oreo cookie crumbs

Cooking With Kids Thursday: Food Painting

This is great way to get the whole family up and into  the kitchen.  My oldest LOVES anything arts and crafts related and I can already tell that this is going to become a favorite activity of hers.  Something tells me we will be doing this at least once a week, especially once those dog days of summer hit.

Here is what you will need for this:

  1. popcorn
  2. marshmallows
  3. Qtips or paintbrushes
  4. food coloring
  5. milk or for a thicker paint use sweetened condensed milk
  6. muffin tin
