Hot Deal Alert for Safeway family store shoppers: Spend $25 on select frozen foods, get a $10 catalina

If you have a grocery store that is part of the “Safeway” family of stores (in my area, it’s Randalls, but it also includes Tom Thumb/Dominick’s/Genuardi’s/Carrs/Vons/Pavilions), the spend $25 on select frozen food items, get a $10 catalina to use on your next purchase deal starts today and runs through the end of March!  The way it works is that you spend $25 on selected frozen foods, and you get a $10 catalina back that is good on your next purchase. You can use the $10 catalina to “roll” into the promotion again (so you spend $15 or less depending on your coupons the next time around).

Last year, I had a blast with this promotion and ended up with a freezer full of food for next to nothing.  The list of participating items last year was huge and I’m sure it will be again this year, so stay tuned for coupon match-ups and scenarios.

Right now, there are two things that caught my eye:

Smucker’s Uncrustables are part of the promotion.  They are 2/$5 at my stores.  There is a $1/1 Uncrustables printable (I recommend printing NOW because it may disappear when coupons re-set tomorrow because it’s the beginning of the month) that you can use with this deal.

Here’s a possible scenario (assuming you can get your hands on several printable coupons):

Buy 10 Smucker’s Uncrustables

Use 10 $1/1 printable coupons (you would need access to 5 computers to print this many)

Spend $15 OOP, get a $10 OYNO catalina (this can be used to purchase items that are part of the “freezer deal” again or it can be used to purchase other grocery items)

Also, California Pizza Kitchen pizzas are part of this deal (they are priced at $5.99 in my ad).  I just got the information on an upcoming catalina deal from my Kroger store this week and typically the Kroger and Randalls catalinas overlap in my area.  Here’s the scoop on the catalina: (keep in mind that this is confirmed for the Kroger family of stores only at this point…I’m just hoping the Safeway stores will have it, too)

I mainly wanted to give you a  “heads up” so you could work on getting the Uncrustables coupons printed.  I wouldn’t jump on this deal just yet because there will likely be a lot more items than what is listed in the ad that will be part of this deal!
