Target deals for the week of 10/4

I’m a bit delayed in getting this post up this week. My husband was out of town this weekend, so trying to keep up with my two little ones and finish out last week’s deals got the best of me and it was hard to keep up with my blog. For the most part, it’s a slow week at Target this week.

The main “hot deal” from the weekly ad is the Mott’s applesauce/apple juice gift card offer. The applesauce is priced at $1.69 for the “no sugar added” varieties and $1.75 for the other varieties. The apple juice is priced at $1.75 also and includes the “Mott’s for Tots” varieties.

Even without coupons, this is a GREAT deal, especially if you have a $5 gift card on hand.

Here are some scenario ideas:

Buy 5 Mott’s applesauce (no sugar added varieties) – $1.69/each

Use $5 Target gift card (if you have one on hand – I always keep one on hand for deals like this!)

Spend $3.45 out of pocket, get a $5 Target gift card

Buy 5 Mott’s apple juice – $1.75/each

Use a $5 Target gift card

Spend $3.75 out of pocket, get a $5 Target gift card

**If you don’t have a gift card to start out with, you can keep “rolling” the gift card you earn from your first transaction into your next transactions.

Another “hot” deal that isn’t in the ad is Glade candles for free or close to free. There is a $3.50/1 Glade Fragrance collection printable coupon from Right @ Home (register here if you haven’t already registered with them). Once you are registered, click here to print the coupon (you can print 2 per computer).

The 4.9 oz Glade Fragrance collection candles are reportedly priced at $3.49 at Target. Use 3 of the printable coupons, get them for FREE and then send in for the mail in rebate here and it ends up being a $5 moneymaker! (thanks My Frugal Adventures!)

A few other deals this week:

*Eggos – Eggos products are on price cut to $1.52 at my stores. Use the $1/2 frozen pancakes Target IP here and the .55/1 Eggos product coupon from the 10-4 SS2 insert and get them for .47/each (if you have two Eggos coupons)

*Elefun and Gator Golf are priced at $14.39 this week. Use the $4/1 printable here and get them for $10.39/each.
(You can also use this coupon to get the travel version of Hungry, Hungry Hippos for $.99 – these are found on the end caps in the luggage/travel section at my store)

*Quaker granola bars are priced at $2/each
There is a $1/2 printable here and a .50 Target printable here. They end up being $1/each (if your store lets you use multiple Target printables) or $1.25/each otherwise.

Other ongoing deals: (items in red are the “freebies”)

Reach Toothbrush – .97 – use the $1/1 coupon from the 3-5 or 6-14 SS insert and get it for free (the coupon will probably beep because it is for more than the amount of the toothbrush)

ReNu Contact Solution – There is a $2/1 ReNu contact solution printable here. There are travel-sized contact solutions priced at $2.29 in the travel section at my Target stores. Use the coupon to get it for $.29 (some stores reportedly have travel sizes for $.99 and there are also $1/1 printables on coupons.com…if your area has those, they are free!)

Rimmel Mascara – select varieties are reportedly priced at $2.24. Use the $2 coupon from the 8-23 RP and get it for .24! (thanks Hip2Save!)

Shout wipes – There are 4 ct packages of Shout wipes in the trial section priced at $1.02. Use the $1/1 Shout laundry product coupons and they are almost free.

Wet Ones wet wipes – there are small packages in the trial section and by the registers for $.99. Use the $1/1 printable here and you will get them for free!

SAVE BIG ON “Staycation” movies! – Target has several “Staycation” DVDs priced at $4.50-$5/each. There are coupons for $2 off DVDs and $3 off Blu-Ray here. You can get titles such as Matilda and Little Women for $2.50-$3/each!

Here are some links to the clearance deals online: (don’t forget to shop through Ebates to get 4% cash back)
*Toddler girls
*Girls (4-14)
*Toddler boys
*Boys (4-14)
*General clearance

Want to get on the Target mailing lists? This isn’t a sure thing, but it’s worth signing up here. (Thanks A Full Cup!)

The Best Deals on Disney’s Snow White

Disney’s Snow White comes out of the vault today for a limited time only and there are some GREAT deals right now if you want to get a copy!

The best deal (in my opinion) is at Toys ‘R Us. The Blu-ray + DVD combo pack will be on sale for $19.99 this week. There is a printable coupon for $10 off here. They are also running a promotion where you get a FREE Snow White Royal Baking set ($12.99 value) with ANY Disney Princess purchase of $25 or more. Since the movie is $19.99, you only need to spend $5.01 more to take advantage of this offer! Typically, they have Disney princess Polly Pocket sets that are priced at about $5.99. These would make great stocking stuffers and you end up getting the baking set, the Polly Pocket set, and the movie for about $16! Plus, there is a $5 mail in rebate here when you buy a participating Hefty product and Snow White!

The next best deal is to order it through Amazon.com. Click on the link above, add it to your cart, and then enter the code “snowhite” at check-out. An instant $10 will be deducted making the movie $9.99! Shipping is $2.98 or FREE if you spend at least $25 (this is at the pre-discount price, so you only need to add an item worth at least $5.01 to your cart to take advantage of the free super saver shipping – make SURE you change the shipping and choose this option because it defaults to “standard shipping” which is not free). If you have Amazon gift cards that you have earned through Swagbucks, this would be a great way to use them and get something for free! Then, you can do the rebate offer listed above and it will be a moneymaker! If you need ideas for a ‘filler’ item, click here.

I always like to try to get the most for my money, and since I’ll be at work, I’m sending my husband to try to do the Toys ‘R Us deal. If they are out of the baking sets (quantities are limited), then I am going to just buy it on Amazon.

The DVD is also on sale this week at the following locations:

*Target – $24.99 ($14.99 after the $10 coupon)
*Walmart – $19.99 ($9.99 after the $10 coupon!)

Have fun shopping! (and don’t forget to enter your Disney movie rewards code!)

Items to Stockpile this week: applesauce, apple juice, cereal, and refrigerated biscuits

If you’re new to stockpiling, I thought I’d give you a “heads up” on a few items that you can stockpile this week and still stay within your budget:

*Applesauce and apple juice: This week Target has a deal where you get a $5 gift card when you buy 5 Mott’s applesauce or apple juice products. These ranged in price from $1.69 (for the “natural” items) to $1.75 at my store. Hopefully you already have a Target gift card on hand from a previous deal!

If you do, here’s how it breaks down ~

Buy 5 Mott’s applesauce – $1.69/each

Use $5 Target gift card

Spend $3.45 OOP, get a $5 Target gift card – you get the applesauce for $.69/each!

Buy 5 Mott’s apple juice – $1.75/each

Use $5 Target gift card

Spend $3.75/each, get a $5 Target gift card – you get the juice for $.75/each!

*Cereal! Randalls has Kellogg’s cereal on sale (the ad runs through Tuesday in my area) for $1.49/each when you buy 5 selected varieties (varieties priced at $1.49 included Apple Jax, Fruit Loops, Raisin Bran, Frosted Flakes, Rice Krispies, and Crispix). There were also several varieties that are $1.99/each when you buy 5 (this included the flavored varieties of Frosted Mini Wheats and Raisin Bran Crunch). There were $1/2 Kellogg’s cereal “blinkie” coupons right in front of the cereal. There were also $2/2 coupons in the 8-30 RP insert and several $1/1 Rice Krispie coupons and one coupon for a free box of Rice Krispies that I had gotten from Vocalpoint.

I got 20 boxes of cereal for $7.01 this weekend. I bought a variety of Apple Jax, Fruit Loops, Raisin Bran, Frosted Flakes, Rice Krispies, and Crispix. I used several of the $2/2 coupons (thanks Martha!), my $1/1 Rice Krispie coupons, and the free box (and they took off the full $3.79 for the free box, which was the amount BEFORE any discounts!). That’s .35/box and we won’t have to buy cereal again for a LONG time.

Even if you don’t have the $2/2 or Vocalpoint coupons, you could still buy 10 boxes for $9.90 using the blinkie coupons found in the cereal section, which still ends up being less than $1 per box!

Buy 2 Campbell’s soups – 2/$1 (w/ in ad coupon)

Use $.75 Halls coupon
Use $7 RR

Spend $.23 OOP, get a $3.50 RR, a $2.50 RR and a $1 RR

My Plan (I have $46 in RR that I earned last week ~ I’m trying to “roll” or keep as many as possible for the Huggies diaper deal next week):

Transaction #1: (rolling my $8 Theraflu RR)
Buy 1 Vaseline Sheer Infusion – $6.99
Buy 1 Emergen-C – $3.49
Buy 1 Halloween pencil – $.12

Use $1.50 Vaseline IP
Use $1/1 coupon for Discover card users
use $8 Theraflu RR

Spend $.10 OOP – earn $7 RR (Vaseline), $3.50 RR (Emergen-C) – I end up with $2.50 more in RR than I started out with!

Transaction #2: (rolling my $7 Vaseline RR)
Buy 1 Gillette Fusion MVP – $8.99
Buy 1 Purell – $2.99
Buy 1 Halloween pencil – $.12

use $4 Gillette coupon
Use .50 Purell coupon
Use $7 Vaseline RR

Spend $.60 OOP, earn a $2 RR (Purell) and a $6 RR (Gillette) – I ended up with $1 more than I started with!

Transaction #3: (rolling my $6 Gillette RR)
Buy 1 Chapstick Fresh Effects – $2.99
Buy 1 Emergen-C Cold – $3.49
Buy 1 Halls – $1
Buy 1 Halloween pencil – $.12

Use $6 RR
Use .50 Halls coupon
use $1 coupon for Discover card users

Spend $.10 OOP, earn a $3 RR (Chapstick), $3.50 RR (Emergen-C), $1 RR (Halls) – I end up with $1.50 more than I started with!

*Rinse and repeat!

Some helpful tips:
*At Walgreens, you cannot do a promotion more than once in a transaction and earn Register Rewards. So, if you buy more than 1 Halls cough drops this week, you will not earn more than 1 RR. You will only get $1.

*You also cannot use the Register Rewards earned from a promotion on the same promotion and earn Register Rewards again. For example, if you buy Halls cough drops, get a $1 RR and use it to buy another Halls cough drops, another RR will not print.

*Typically, you cannot use the Register Rewards earned from a promotion with the same manufacturer and earn Register Rewards again. For example, you cannot buy a Vaseline lotion and use the RR from the promotion to buy another Vaseline lotion because your RR will not print.

Here is information on the manufacturers for this week’s RR (thanks HCW!):
Vaseline = Unilever
Emergen C = Alacer
Chapstick = Wyeth
Fusion Razor = P & G
Robitussin = Wyeth

*Register Rewards are considered to be “manufacturer’s coupons” and you can only use one manufacturer’s coupon per item. You will have to add “filler” items. The in ad coupons often have good, inexpensive filler items. (this week, my favorite fillers are the Halloween pencils and the Campbell’s soups)

*If you are buying items that would result in a “free” item or “overage” when combining a store coupon and a manufacturer’s coupon, give the manufacturer’s coupon FIRST, and the store coupons LAST to avoid beeping/issues at the register! Make sure that you are purchasing enough items in your total transaction to “cover” the overage. You will not get cash back and you will have to add items to cover the overage or they will not take the coupon.

*If your Register Reward doesn’t print for some reason and you have fulfilled all of the obligations for the “deal” (including not using RR from the same parent company to pay) DO NOT let them tell you it is because you used coupons! Chances are they didn’t print because the catalina machine is not working. You have two choices: you can return your items and try again or you can contact the catalina company by doing the following:
*The store will give you a form to fill out and mail in to catalina
*Call 1-888-8coupon, option 3
*Use the online form to contact them: Contact Catalina Marketing (when I have tried contacting them this way, my results have not been very good….your best bet is to call)
