30 Days of Valentine’s Fun: Valentine’s Advent calendar

This is such a fun idea to do with your spouse or significant other.  I love the idea of taking the two weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day to reminisce and fall in love all over again.  Thanks to Pocket Full of Posies for the idea!

Here’s where to go to find templates and detailed directions on how to make this -> Valentine’s Advent Tutorial

Hobby Lobby: 40% off printable coupon + Frugal Flower Flip Flops!

I LOVE flip flops and in Texas, I love that I can basically wear them for almost nine months out of the year!  I also have a 7 year old daughter who love any craft project I can find for her (and sometimes she comes up with some on her own).  This week, I’ve found a project that will be the best of both worlds for us:  Frugal Flower Flip Flops!

This week, the flip flops are 50% off at Hobby Lobby!  Plus, there is a printable Hobby Lobby coupon for 40% off any regular-priced item here.

I found a great tutorial here on Frugal Girls that explains how to make flower flip flops! All you need are:  flip flops, silk floral stems, and jewels.  We’ll get the flip flops for 50% off and I figure we can each use a 40% off coupon to buy the flowers and the jewels!    I’m guessing it will cost us $2 (possibly less) per pair!

UPDATE: We had SO much fun making these today!  We decided that we’re going to get back and get more flowers and flip flops while they’re on sale!

Here’s the breakdown on expenses:

Kid flip flops – $1.59 (regular price – they are 50% off this week)
Adult flip flops – $1.99 (regular price – they are 50% off this week)
1 stem flowers – $1.99 (regular price – they are 50% off this week)
Jewels – $3.47 (we used the 40% off coupon on this, since it was the only thing that was full price!)

Total OOP = $4.52 (including tax!) and we we still have jewels left to do more!

Here’s a picture of our 4th of July-themed flip flops!

What frugal, crafty projects do YOU have going on this week?
