Looking for some free family fun this weekend? Here is a round up of free activities and events. It’s always a good idea to check with your local store before going to make sure that they are participating (especially if you’ve got a drive). Here is my top pick for the week! We do the Bass Pro holiday events (they have them for Easter and Christmas) every year! Bass Pro Shop – March 28th through April 5th, Receive a FREE photo with the Easter Bunny as well as a FREE Easter Egg Hunt and FREE crafts for kids. Check here for times and locations.

American Girl – Grace’s Macaron Notecard Craft. Grace loves making delightful French desserts and writing letters when she travels—and your girl can too! At this craft event, she’ll create a pretty paper notecard featuring colorful French macarons on the front—perfect for giving to a friend. Free and open to the public. For girls ages 8 and up.

– Samantha’s Story Reading & BeForever™ Craft. Even when they were far apart, Samantha never forgot her best friend Nellie! Your girl can attend a reading from Samantha’s classic story about friendship. Then, girls will create two postcards featuring the BeForever characters—one to keep, and one to mail to a friend. Free and open to the public. For girls ages 8 and up.

Apple Stores – Check your local store for weekly workshops and youth programs

Bank of America – Bank of America’s Museums on Us is offering cardholders can explore cultural institutions at some the most exciting cultural venues in the U.S. This weekend, April 4th and 5th, Bank of America and Merrill Lynch cardholders can get free access to 150 participating museums in 92 cities. Bank of America has also recently rolled out its Museums on Us site for mobile. You can check it out here on your mobile phone. It’s great for people who are traveling and want to check out if the city they are visiting has a participating museums.

Barnes & Noble – Look here for a store and author appearances near you.

Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Stores – Free demos every Saturday, check your store here for more details.

Lakeshore Learning – Saturday, April 4th from 11-3 pm, kids can make a Cute as a Bunny Basket.

Lowes Build and Grow – The next class will be on Saturday, April 11th at 10 a.m., where kids can make a See It Grow Gardening Box. Free apron, goggles and patch are included. Register for this class here

Michael’s Kids Club: Check back for fun classes for the whole family.

Microsoft Stores – Check your local store for classes and special events for the whole family.

Pottery Barn Kids – Tuesday’s from 11-11:30 a.m., Story Time.

Target – select a city to find free or reduced-price admission to arts and cultural events in your area, sponsored by Target.

The Home Depot – The next class will be on Saturday, April 4th from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., kids can learn how to build a chalkboard planter stand. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Register for this class as well as future classes here.

Toys R Us – Join Us Saturday, March 28, 12-2pm at ALL Toys”R”Us stores. Your child will get to make & take a FREE LEGO Ninjago mask, plus participate in a fun scavenger hunt with prizes!

Walmart Event Finder – enter your zip code to see what is going on in your area. Williams Sonoma Free Cooking Classes – This has been on my bucket list for a long time because I think my daughter would LOVE it! You do have to register in advance, but they’ve got the schedule posted for the whole month! Kids Bowl Free – Registration for Kids Bowl Free has started and you can get your free weekly bowling passes starting April 1st! Find a participating bowling alley in your city and register your kids now! I do this with my family every summer and it’s so much fun!

Aldi deals for the week of 4/1!

If you are new to shopping, at Aldi’s, here’s their coupon policy: or lack there-of since they don’t actually take coupons!

Aldi’s does not take coupons of any kind.
At Aldi’s, you will have to bag your own groceries and pay a quarter to get a cart. The quarter is reimbursed when the cart is returned.
You’ll need to bring in your own reusable grocery bags or you’ll have to purchase them in the store (they are $.06)

Aldi is now in Houston and these deals are based on that ad. It is hard to judge what a “good deal” is since cost of living varies so much in various parts of the country, but these are all “good deals” by my standards in a low to moderate cost of living area.
