Last Minute DIY Halloween Costume Ideas

Halloween is just 6 days away!  If you still haven’t decided on a costume for your child, Family Fun has 40 unique DIY costume ideas to help get those creative juices flowing.  My favorites are the paper doll for girls and monkey business for boys.


Here is what you will need to make the paper doll costume:

diagrams and templates

  • poster board
  • paint
  • black marker
  • headband
  • duct tape

 

  • foam core
  • hot glue (an adult’s job)
  • elastic and Velcro straps
  • white t-shirt and shorts (concealed by the
    costume)
  • frilly socks and Mary Janes

Here is what you need to make the Monkey Business Costume:

  • templates
  • wire hanger
  • brown faux fur
  • brown duct tape
  • hot glue (an adult’s job)
  • headband
  • tan felt
  • rectangular box

  • craft foam
  • office clothes and tie
  • face paint for details
