I posted here about the Mega Sale that started at Kroger stores in my area. This same sale is taking place across the country at stores in the “Kroger family” (which includes Ralphs, King Soopers, Frys, Smith’s, Gerbes, City Market, and Dillons).
Participating products include: AMP Energy, Aquafina, Betty Crocker Baking Mixes, Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks, Cascadian Farms Cereals and Bars, Capโn Crunch, Cheerios, Cheetos, Chex Mix, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cocoa Puffs, Dole Juices and Juice Drinks, Fiber One, Fritos, Gatorade, Golden Grahams, Green Giant, Hamburger Helper, Life , Lipton Tea, Nature Valley, Old El Paso, Pepsi family of 2 Liters, Pillsbury, Progresso, Propel, Quaker Instant Oatmeal, Quaker Chewy Bars, Starbucks, Sobe Life Water, Totinoโs, Trix, Tropicana, Yoplait and MORE!
If you’re preparing to send your kids off to school like I am, many of these products will come in handy!
General Mills, PepsiCo and MyBlogSpark were kind enough to send me a $30 gift card so that I could see (and share) how much I was able to save during the sale. I plan to do my shopping on Saturday and share my savings on Sunday!
They are also going to give a $30 Kroger gift card away to one of my readers! The giveaway starts today and will end at 11:59 pm CT on Sunday, August 23rd. I will announce the winner on Monday, August 24th. The winner will be chosen randomly using random.org.
You will have 24 hours to provide me with your contact information (when you post to enter, you must leave your e-mail address or some other way for me to contact you!). Here’s how you can enter to win:
1. Tell me about what you plan to buy with your gift card and how much you think you can save.
2. Subscribe to my blog (if you already subscribe, please post a comment to let me know that you have subscribed…if you are a new subscriber, you also need to “verify” your subscription).
3. Create a post on your blog letting others know about the giveaway and link back to my blog or tweet about the giveaway on Twitter. Be sure to comment here with a link to your post!
Please create a separate post for each of your entries. If you win, you need to provide me with some way to contact you. (Remember, if you post a comment as “anonymous” you need to include some sort of identifying information or your entry will not be valid)
GOOD LUCK!
I'll bet I can get $85 worth of groceries with that $30 cash card.

I would take advantage of the e-coupons and the paper coupons I have to stock up on…
fruit snacks (buying at least 5 to get the $3.5 OYNP coupon), brownie mixes and brownie bowls, nature valley bars and the pillsbury doughs. I also would use my BOGO coupons on the SOBEs to get some of those for free.

Hello…Thank you for such a great offer!! I shop at Kroger faithfully in Flushing, MI. I love Krogerโs because of the doubling to $1.00…It helps keeping shopping cost down and give our family money for other necessities. With the gift card I can purchase that much more. With my husband loosing his job because of Michigan's economy what a huge opportunity!!

Well being that I just went yesterday and got $185 worth for $35, I'd probably repeat a lot of the same deals. Love the Mega Event and I'm loving shortcuts and cellfire.

With the mega event happening this week and having coupons for just about everything, if I were to win that card, I guess I should only pay 10.00 oop
I would buy groceries, and I think I could save between 40 and 50%.
I'm not good enough to get huge bargains. I saw that one mom had gotten $150 worth with her $30 card and Mega Savings. I'm amazed. I might be able to score $45.
I like stocking up on cereal and snacks (like granola bars…which are included in the sale!) I bet I could save at least 50 dollars!
I will be purchasing progresso soups. We bought 10 yesterday and $1 each is a great price.
Thanks!

I always try to save at least 75% on my grocery orders when I shop. So depending on the sale I'd say I can get at least $120 worth of stuff for that $30. Depends on the sale and what I need of course but it's funny, if I don't see "you saved 75% on your order today" (or more) I feel like I've failed at the store these days LOL I used to think anything was good and now it makes me feel like a failure!!
No matter what, I think it's great that you're promoting smart shopping and budgeting Mel. You and your Target lists and meal plans are a big part of my weekly planning now. I had been following you for a year now but finally did the subscription ๐ You Rock!!
Oh and I linked you on my blog at sirsavesalot.blogspot.com and I included your offer in my weekly email to friends and coworkers ๐ Probably will only reach 10-15 people but hey, it's all something ๐
I'm sure I could save at least $20-30 dollars or more on groceries.
Thanks for doing the giveaway!

Hm…I think I would use the $30 GC to buy produce & meat; things I don't typically have coupons for!
I am a subscriber! That is how I found out about your giveaway;)
I'm sort of new to this – so I may be able to spend $30 and get 50-60 dollars worth, but we eat gluten free so we can't buy some of things that are normally good sales!

I can get about 2 weeks worth of groceries with the mega sale and $30 combined. I would focus on pairing coupons, ecoupons, and sale items to fill my stockpile rather than getting just the food we'd eat this week.
I blogged about this giveaway!

We are almost out of meat so I would stock up the freezer with $30 worth of whole chickens at the usual sale price of 2.50 (about 50% off). Each chicken will stretch us about 2-3 meals. Total savings would come to 12 chickens for 30 bucks and a 30 dollar savings. Nutritionally, the purchase would make for the bulk of a half month worth of lunches and dinners!
I going to get cereal, Old El Paso products, Pepsi 2-liters, Fiber One bars, Betty Crocker and Pilsbury products.
Crystal816[at}hotmail[dot}com

Blogs like your have opened my eyes to a whole new world – THANK YOU! My Kroger only doubles to .50, but the managers' special's are incredible. French bread for .49, Kashi waffles for 1.49, 32 oz organic Stoneyfield yogurt for 2.00… I'd use the $30 gift card to go crazy on the manager's specials and so how many of my favorite brands I could stock up on. Thanks for the chance!
